JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus Injectable
What to Expect
JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus is injected into the lips or mid and deep layers of facial tissue where more severe facial wrinkles and folds occur to add volume temporarily. The treatment itself involves a series of small injections under the skin to strategically plump targeted areas.
The dermal filler contains lidocaine to help make the injections as comfortable as possible. However, some minor discomfort, pressure, or pinching may be felt during the procedure. The treatment typically takes around 30-60 minutes, depending on how much volume restoration is needed. Most patients do not require any type of anesthesia beyond the lidocaine mixed in the product.
Immediately after your procedure, you may experience some temporary swelling, redness, and tenderness around the injection sites. This typically resolves within a few days as the filler settles. Full effects of the dermal filler become visible after about 2 weeks as the hyaluronic acid integrates into the skin and provides natural-looking volume. Results from JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus last up to one year. Touch-up’s may be needed to maintain fullness as the product breaks down over time.
What Can Dermal Filler Injectables Do for You?
JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus is composed mainly of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring sugar in the body. Hyaluronic acid fillers help add volume and fullness to the skin, while still providing natural-looking results and preserving moisture. This gel filler can be used in the face, cheeks, lips, and nasal labial folds to reduce signs of aging and restore volume to skin that is naturally lost as we age. Hyaluronic acid fillers also promote collagen production in the skin, providing lasting results even after this filler begins to break down.
Since Ultra Plus is thicker in consistency, it will provide more dramatic volume enhancement to the lips if used for lip fillers. If you are looking for a significant enhancement in the lips, this may be a good option for you compared to other, more subtle types of filler.
