What to Expect From Your Microneedling and PRP Treatment
PRP and microneedling may be completed independently or as a combined treatment. Our microneedling procedure is delivered by highly trained Physician Assistants using SkinPen. SkinPen is a non-invasive treatment and the first FDA-approved device for treating a variety of skin imperfections.
During the microneedling procedure, your provider will numb the area and use thin needles to puncture the top layer of skin and stimulate collagen production. You may feel a warm, scratching sensation or discomfort around bony areas of the face. Deeper microneedling treatments may cause mild bleeding.
During a PRP treatment, your provider will draw a blood sample and process it through a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma. These platelets are then injected into the skin to encourage collagen production and cell reproduction. Recovery time from microneedling and PRP treatments is minimal. You may experience mild soreness and tenderness immediately following the procedure, or mild bruising for up to a week.
How Microneedling Can Reduce Scarring and Lines In Your Skin
Results will begin to appear in the weeks following your microneedling and PRP treatment. Full results will take a few months to appear as the body needs time to produce collagen. Our clients report seeing a noticeable reduction in scarring and lines, a more even texture, and plumper, healthier skin.
Frequency of treatments will depend on your current skin health and skin care goals. Our skilled providers can advise on a treatment plan based on your desired outcome.
