Choosing a Treatment
What to Expect
Each treatment is performed by a highly trained Physician Assistant to ensure maximum safety and effects while minimizing discomfort during and after treatment. The number of injections you receive will depend on the type of injectable you choose and your desired outcome. A typical treatment session takes less than 30 minutes.
During the treatment, your provider will ask you to make certain facial expressions to determine your target treatment areas. A microneedle will be used to administer the injections. You may feel a slight pinch, but most patients do not require local anesthesia.
After the treatment, you may notice a small bump at the injection site. This will fade quickly. You can resume most normal activities after your procedure. However, your provider may advise that you wait 24 to 48 hours before performing any strenuous physical activity or using a hot tub or saunas to minimize the risk of swelling or bruising.
Results from your wrinkle relaxer treatment will begin to appear within 5-7 days, with complete effects seen within two weeks for most patients. Results may take less or more time to appear for some patients. During this time you will notice gradual fading of lines and wrinkles in the target areas.
Follow up treatments are recommended every 3 to 4 months, though some patients prefer to schedule follow ups more frequently depending on their results.
Risks & Side Effects
Side effects from wrinkle relaxing injections are rare and temporary in most patients. Possible short-term side effects include minor bruising, temporary headache, and drooping eyelid (in less than 1% of patients).
Though rare, certain complications are possible. Call your provider immediately if you experience any of the following side effects from your treatment:
