During the Procedure

During your treatment, the laser precisely targets pigment in the skin, breaking it up into tiny particles that your body then naturally removes. You may experience a slight warming sensation as the laser pulses on the skin, but no harsh pain or discomfort. The PicoWay laser works below the surface, leaving the outer layer of the skin intact. It can target tattoo pigment, excess melanin in the skin that causes dark spots, and other unwanted pigmentation. During treatment for acne scars or wrinkles, the laser creates tiny spaces in the dermis (the layer just beneath the outer skin) to encourage the production of collagen and elastin. Pain level is low for wrinkle and acne scar treatment and moderate for tattoo removal.
Recovery
PicoWay laser treatments are minimally-invasive and require little to no downtime. Directly following the treatment, your skin will be a bit red and swollen, much like a sunburn. This typically resolves within a few hours. Over the next 1-2 weeks, you'll notice the treated areas darkening and flaking as your skin naturally exfoliates the pigment particles away. You can help the process along with gentle exfoliation and moisturizing creams. Within 2 weeks, your skin should feel smooth, renewed, and refreshed, with less noticeable pigmentation. You may need multiple sessions for optimal results, but you'll see subtle improvements with each successive laser treatment.
After the Procedure
PicoWay Resolve and PicoWay Resolve Fusion are micro-beam treatments. They are typically done on an outpatient basis and require little to no downtime. Depending on the treatment you are getting, you will most likely need to receive several laser sessions to achieve your desired results.
