Xeomin® Injections

Xeomin® injections treat moderate to severe lines between the eyebrows, across the forehead, and around the eyes. This FDA-approved formula contains a neurotoxin, a type of prescription medication that blocks chemical communication between the nerves and muscles that cause repeated expressions like frowning. When injected by our highly trained physician assistants, Xeomin® relaxes muscle contractions and softens existing frown lines for a more youthful, well-rested appearance.

Treatment Areas

Like other wrinkle-reducing treatments, Xeomin® injections only take a few minutes and do not require anesthesia or downtime. However, you should avoid heavy lifting, vigorous exercise, or moving treated muscles for up to 4 hours after your appointment. Xeomin® injections are commonly used to treat lines and wrinkles in the following areas:

  • Glabellar lines (the “11s”)
  • Forehead lines
  • Lateral canthal lines (the “crow’s feet”)

Xeomin® vs. Other Injectables

Xeomin® is a popular treatment for fine lines and wrinkles. Here’s how it compares to other leading wrinkle-reducing injectables:
Botox-

Botox

While Xeomin® is a so-called “naked” form of botulinum toxin, meaning it does not contain additives, Botox® includes stabilizer proteins. This means that some people may form a resistance to Botox over time.
Dysport

Dysport

Similar to Botox, Dysport contains additional proteins that could cause reactions in people with skin sensitivities. Some patients may need more units of Dysport than Xeomin®, though it may produce faster results.
Jeuveau

Jeuveau

Unlike Xeomin®, Botox, and Dysport, which were developed for medical purposes, Jeuveau was developed for aesthetic purposes only. Some patients see results 1 to 2 days sooner when compared with Xeomin®.

Is Xeomin® right for me?

Xeomin® is a great choice for adults over the age 18 who want to soften facial lines — especially if alternatives like Botox are no longer producing results. However, because every patient is unique, our team will discuss your aesthetic goals before selecting a treatment.

As with all injectables, you may experience mild and temporary bruising, swelling, or redness at the injection site. Some patients have also reported headaches for a day or two after receiving treatment for glabellar lines.

The Beauty Benefits of Xeomin®

Repeated facial expressions like frowning, squinting, and smiling can cause fine lines across the forehead, eyebrows, and around the eyes. As we age, those lines become deeper and more prominent. Xeomin® injections help reduce the visibility of those lines by relaxing targeted facial muscles. Results usually become noticeable three days after treatment and can last as long as six months.
