Dermaplaning Treatment

Dermaplaning is an exfoliating procedure that gently removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells and hair on the face and body to reveal more radiant, even-toned and textured skin underneath.

Dermaplaning is a non-invasive way to correct and maintain your natural beauty and improve the texture, tone, and overall health of your skin. This treatment can be used to address numerous concerns, including:

What to Expect

Dermaplaning is non-surgical and does not cut through your skin. Instead, we use a thin razor to gently lift away dead skin and hair on the face and body. Dermaplaning does not require general anesthesia and is generally painless. However, you may feel a slight stinging or scratching sensation during the treatment, similar to the feeling of shaving your legs. Topical numbing creams may be used on the treatment area if desired.

During the Procedure

One of our highly-skilled aestheticians will use a tool that looks similar to a straight razor to lightly shave away dead skin, revealing more youthful and healthy-looking skin underneath.

Recovery

Your skin may be slightly red or tender afterward, but these symptoms should subside after a few days. Over-the-counter pain medications can be taken to alleviate any discomfort. Patients should avoid excessive sun exposure for at least 3 days after treatment.

After the Procedure

Dermaplaning treatments can last anywhere from a few minutes to an hour and require no downtime after. A soothing skincare product will be applied after the treatment to help reduce any redness or swelling.

How many dermaplaning treatments will I need?
Dermaplaning results can be seen immediately after one session. It is a treatment you should keep up with regularly in order to see maximum results. You can get dermaplaning procedures done every 3 to 4 weeks to make sure you give your skin time to heal in between sessions.
Will results look natural?
Once the treated area is fully healed, patients can expect their skin to appear more even and balanced with a significant reduction in acne scarring, fine lines,  and visible sun damage.
Will dermaplaning hurt?
During the procedure, you may feel a slight scratching or stinging feeling, but dermaplaning is generally not painful.
Should I do anything to prepare for treatment?
Avoid sunlight and heavy exfoliation for 3 days before the procedure.
